Q: What is the process of sending missionaries through the Sending Collective?
A: We follow three primary phases for healthy sending:
Q: What services does the Sending Collective provide?
A: The services we offer fall within four broader categories:
Q: If I partner with the Sending Collective, do I need to utilize all of these services?
A: The Sending Collective is not just another service provider; we collaborate with you to tailor our offerings to meet your needs. Whether you're a local church leader or a mission organization, we design packages to support your mission strategy with comprehensive care. From administrative support for donor operations and financial and benefits services to people care and development of missionary candidates, we ensure your people are assessed, equipped, and supported at every step. Q: What does it cost to send through the Sending Collective?
A: We provide services for a pre-determined fee on incoming support. Support directly from the missionaries' sending church has a discounted cost. As we collaborate with mission agencies, we provide several customizable support packages structured around a fee-based system.
Q: How will missionaries know how much money they need to raise?
A: The Sending Collective's budgeting template can help guide this decision-making process. The Sending Collective will work with sending churches to approve the proposed budget. Ultimately, missionaries should be well cared for so they can focus on ministry.
Q: Who has financial oversight of the missionary's accounts?
A: While our financial team will oversee all accounts, an identified point of contact at the sending church will review and approve monthly reimbursements from the missionary's account for ministry or project expenses not included in the monthly salary.
Q: How can church members and others give financial support to missionaries?
A: Donors can give through the simple online portal that the Sending Collective offers as part of our service package. The SEND US Office will issue charitable giving receipts, monthly salaries, and expense reimbursements.
Q: Is the Sending Collective connected to or part of a denomination?
A: The Sending Collective is a nondenominational, evangelical organization guided by a biblical doctrinal statement of belief.
Q: Is the Sending Collective part of another mission organization? And if so, what makes it different?
A: The Sending Collective is powered by SEND International of the United States. This initiative was launched to provide more agile missionary-sending solutions to local churches and mission agencies. The Sending Collective offers flexible, responsive, and collaborative support to serve the unique and evolving needs of the global Church. Our dream is to foster a dynamic ecosystem of churches and mission organizations uniting to send well-equipped, empowered missionaries to the unreached corners of the world. Ultimately, we aim to accelerate the Church's work to fulfill the Great Commission.
Q: Since the Sending Collective is an initiative of SEND International, would those sent through the Sending Collective be considered SEND missionaries?
A: No, missionaries sent through the Sending Collective will be considered missionaries of their sending church rather than SEND International missionaries.
Q: What is the relationship between the sending church, the Sending Collective, and the receiving team or organization?
A. Missionaries sent through the Sending Collective will be legal employees of SEND US. However, we consider the sending church and the receiving team to have the primary relationship. The Sending Collective will work to broker this relationship through the discovery process, coaching, developing a clear memorandum of understanding, and mediating, as needed.
